The Performing Arts Program
With the Performing Arts Program, LAFT Berlin has created an effective instrument for the infrastructural strengthening, professionalization and networking of Berlin‘s independent performing arts community. The goals are increasing and cementing the visibility of artistic work within the creative hub of Berlin, the opening of the independent performing arts community for new audience members, bundling and passing on knowledge and competencies, the strengthening of synergies and creating new cooperations within and beyond the independent performing arts community itself.
The Berlin Performing Arts Program sees itself as a pool for sharing knowledge, opportunities and networks which allow it to react permanently and dynamically to current demands, relevant topics and questions, allowing it to provide precise answers.

Consultation & Orientientation
No matter whether you are just starting out or if you are a pro with many years of experience: questions dealing with artistic work in the independent performing arts community find competent answers in the Information Center as well as in the Mentoring Programs.
Cooperation events and symposia on specific topics provide information about changes and support exchanges between artists.
Each year, the Industry Get-Together of the Independent Performing Arts invites the community and guests to take part in cultural policy updates, discussions, presentations and workshops.
Visiting industry professionals from throughout Germany and abroad, representatives from the areas of politics, business and society as well as old and new media or those interested in forming cooperations find professional support for their concerns in the Central Point of Contact. The Touring Office supports the (inter)national visibility of artistic work “made in Berlin“. The Performing Arts Guide provides a digital map of Berlin‘s independent performing arts community.
The monthly schedule of programming of Theaterscoutings Berlin provides audience members with new perspectives on the artistic work and institutions of the independent performing arts community with discussions, workshops and tours of performance venues. Experts pass on the knowledge they have gained about professional arts communication both in writing as well as at professional events.
Information & Service
Digital directories such as the Berlin Rehearsal Space Platform (Proberaumplattform Berlin) or the Freie Szene Kompass provide orientation.
The Berlin Performing Arts Program provides all of the knowledge it gains from these events online for future reference as well as in topic-specific handbooks, handouts and information brochures that are given out free of charge.
You can find up-to-date information in the newsletters and on the websites of the projects of LAFT Berlin.
